The Federal Skilled Worker Program

Targets professionals and skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada permanently

You have skilled worked experience in the same NOC as the job you are using for your application
You have taken an approved language test in English or French
Have completed post-secondary education in or outside Canada
You show proof of funds, unless you are able to legally work in Canada or have a valid job offer from an employer

The Federal Skilled Trades Program

For those who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade. Examples of skilled trade include:

Industrial, electrical, and construction trades
Maintenance and equipment operation trades
Supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture, and related production

Program Requirements

Meet the required language requirements
Have at leasat 2 years of full-time work experience in a trade within the 5 years before you applied
Meet the job requirements for a skilled trade based on NOC

Have a valid job offer for full-time employment for a total duration of at least 1 year

Canadian Experience Class

The Canadians Experience class is for those who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.

Have gained work experience while being a temporary resident with work authorization
